On Saturday the 22nd August over a thousand healthcare professionals will be coming together and talking to the public about the NHS.

Lead by a small team of junior doctors, the event is called Crash Call for the NHS. Doctors, nurses and other allied healthcare professionals will be talking face-to-face to the public about the NHS, while offering basic first aid and CPR training.

The event is being held at Shepherd's Bush Green in London, and already has over a thousand registered attendees on it's Facebook page. Launching off the back of recent twitter campaigns the event organisers hope to engage with the public further on the issues that the NHS faces.

A call for volunteers received hundreds of offers, and event organisers are now confident the day will have a full turn-out. They are hoping that the day will be an excellent chance for the public to talk to frontline staff, and dispel some of the myths about working life in the NHS.

The group are hoping to bring a positive message from NHS staff into the public eye, in contrast to what they perceive as years of negative media coverage.

Members of NHS Survival will be attending the event, recruiting volunteers, and speaking on stage to help spread the word on the proposal for a Royal Commission.
